Welcome to Our Blog!

Welcome to Integrity Dental, our website, and our very first blog post! Woohoo!

If you’re reading this, then you’ve obviously taken some time to explore our website and check out this page! Yay!

This is a HUGE deal to me since a lot went into our website, and I’m honestly not sure how many people out there will actually end up reading any of these posts!

But I’m going to write them anyway, even if it’s just for you!

So, thank you for stopping by, and thank you even more for reading on!

Disclaimer: I’m a dentist and a regular human being just like you - not a professional blogger!

I recently redesigned our website, and one of my main goals in doing so was to make it much more personal.

I wanted our website to come from the heart, and to share our own voice. I wanted it to be another way that we could connect more directly with our patients and make your dental experience that much more personal.

I was working on opening the doors to Integrity Dental in late 2020 when I reached out to a team of “experts” for help building our website.

I was juggling a million different things at the time while gearing up to open, and the idea of trying to build my own website was just off the table altogether.

I told myself “I’m a dentist. Not a website designer. I need to trust someone who knows what they’re doing.”

So I turned to a team of website “experts.” This was a bit uncomfortable for me since I’d never done anything like it before, and especially since I needed to put down my own money (I wasn’t employed at the time, and was still working on getting the practice up and running).

It was also really hard to trust people I didn’t know with something so important to me. I wondered how a team of strangers could take what I envisioned and translate that into reality.

Yet I figured it was worth the investment. Surely these folks would be able to help me build the kind of website I envisioned for my practice and my patients, right?

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I quickly learned a very hard and expensive lesson - that there are lots of people out there, especially those that prey on dentists, who make lofty claims without delivering on their end of the bargain in the end.

After investing too much time and money into what I hoped would be the “perfect” website for my practice, I was left with something that just didn’t feel like me/us.

I was left with a website with stock photos of strangers, and posts that sounded like they were written by somebody else, because they were.

I was left with a website I had virtually no control over.

Not to mention it just seemed way too cookie cutter. Too cut and paste. I’m sure you’ve seen other websites like the ones I’m referring to and know what I mean.

I didn’t want my website to have that vibe. I didn’t want it to be “salesy” or just another way of enticing potential new patients to click or call.

What mattered more to me than anything else was that it reflected who we are and what we’re all about at our core.

Being just a tad bit of a perfectionist (if you know me, then you know what I mean!), I knew that the only way I could make this happen was to create the kind of website I envisioned on my own.

So that’s what I did.

It actually wasn’t as difficult as I imagined, but I won’t say it was easy either.

I really enjoy learning and challenging myself, so it was actually a great experience in the end. Dare I say it was also a lot of fun?!

It took me a few months and countless (I mean countless) hours perfecting every page, every paragraph, every sentence - even all of the spacing.

I actually ended up “working” on my website in my dreams! That’s when I realized that maybe I was spending just a little too much time with it!

Here it is today, and I couldn’t be more proud of it and all of the passion I poured into every corner of it!

I’m very excited to present to you a website that I’m not only very proud of, but I feel truly represents me and my team and what we’re all about at Integrity Dental.

I’m even more excited to launch our blog, “Tooth Tidbits,” as a way of sharing what I hope to be fun and informative stories and information directly with you!

Remember, though - I’m your dentist, not a blogger! So I’m not entirely sure how this will go. Thanks for sticking with me anyway! Hopefully you’ll find some value in our posts. I really do look forward to writing them for you!
